Making A Difference

As Director and Editor, I am immensely grateful to the remarkable group of people who have agreed to serve on TheVeteran.UK’s Advisory Board and the Campaign’s Inaugural Sponsors.

Given TheVeteran.UK’s core focus on promoting Veterans, regardless of rank or role, across all sectors and types of employment, it is especially fitting that TheVeteran.UK’s Inaugural Charity partner is The Forces Employment Charity, and I am delighted that Alistair Halliday, its Chief Executive, has joined the Advisory Board.

Ultimately, the success of the Campaign will be driven by involvement and engagement at all levels, and I particularly urge Service Leavers, Veterans, employers and would-be employers of Veterans to Join TheVeteran.UK – as well as anyone or any organization working with or for Veterans and, of course, currently serving members of the Armed Forces – perhaps not currently looking to move on – and their families. Well-wishers and supporters are also most welcome…

In addition to joining TheVeteran.UK Community, we want as many people as possible to Get-In-Touch with ideas and/or stories for the TheVeteran.UK Online, our print and digital edition Flagship Publication, TheVeteran.UK Newsletter, and social media shoutouts.

We are setting out to give the widest possible coverage to working-age Veterans’ challenges, opportunities and achievements regardless of rank or role. And in so doing relentlessly demonstrate their current and future value to all employers and UK society as a whole.

Let’s make a difference together – and in the process help build a new sense of vibrant, relevant Community for today’s working age Veterans in which, of course, the sacrifices and needs of earlier generations are never forgotten.

“Veteran.UK will showcase the immensely positive contribution that those who have served in our Armed Forces continue to make to the UK economy and society.  It will also help to galvanise and champion the veteran community, giving it a voice and some muscle to deliver positive changes that will help make the UK a better place for veterans.”
